To design any clothes fabric is as important as design. Consumers are also now aware of traditional textiles and fashion.
People still want to connect with historical fashion and fabrics. That's why some designers are promoting textiles and fashion digitally as well by creating awareness for handlooms.
COTTON
Cotton is a commonly used and natural fabric from our fashion history. This era changed it by adding some colors, prints, and work on it. In Indian history cotton used to make choli, blouses for females, and males used to wear cotton dhoti, lungi etc... cotton feels comfy to wear so people most of use it for routine wear.

Khadi is a handwoven natural fabric made with cotton it is also called khaddar.
This fabric has a smooth texture and feels comfortable during the winter season and also keeps fresh in summers. Khadi is our “swadeshi fabric”
Some brands are specially making khadi fabrics in India. And people like to wear khadi sarees, kurta/Kurtis and now designers making so varieties with khadi fabrics
SILK
Silk is made naturally by silkworm cocoon. Silk is the strongest of natural fabric. Silk can pass through one ring easily because it's a very soft and flexible fabric.
Most probably silk used in sarees or gowns and because of its shine clothes looks so classy.
Indian fabrics are so much more than just this and that's why we should know all about our history. And coming up new designers should focus on fashion history because our roots are so strong and it will never end to get inspired.
